BARGERSVILLE, IN.
Danny Bryce Plummer, 82 and lifelong resident of Bargersville, IN passed away Monday, July 1, 2024, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born November 13, 1941, in Bargersville, IN to Eugene Plummer and Marie Jane (Stewart) Plummer. Danny married Mary Helen (Pinckley) Plummer on August 27, 1961, at First Christian Church of Bargersville, IN, she survives.
He was a 1960 graduate of Center Grove High School where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America and played football his senior year. Upon graduating, Danny served in the United States Army and when he returned home, he resumed farming with his dad. He then worked for the town of Bargersville Water Utilities. He was an employee of Indiana Bell as a residential installer, then moved to AT&T where he handled business accounts. After retiring from AT&T, he opened Call Us Inc., his own telephone company where he serviced St. Francis Hospital and other business accounts.
He was a member of Bargersville First Christian Church for over 60 years where he had served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, elder and a member of the SAWS ministry. Danny was a member of the Bargersville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and Murat Shrine.
Danny enjoyed his hobbies including woodworking, his 1953 Allis Chalmers tractor, fishing especially in Minnesota where he and his family vacationed for years. He also loved gardening and going to farm shows, bluegrass music and playing banjo with his buddies.
Survivors include his wife Mary Helen (Pinckley) Plummer of Bargersville, IN, two daughters Shelly Wise of Franklin, IN and Sheri Plummer-Parks (Rick) of Martinsville, IN, his grandchildren Richard Cramer (Mandy), Jeff Wise (Ximena), Joseph Wise (Rence), Grace Lowrey (Andrew), Mary Alexandria Williams, Austin Williams (Makenna), Andi Tunks and a great granddaughter Lainey Lowrey, his brother Duane Plummer (Melinda) of Bargersville and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and his sister Diane Plummer preceded him in death.
Pastor Dustin Hite will conduct a celebration of life memorial service on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 3PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN with military honors being conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard and Franklin American Legion Post 205 Honor guard and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/dannyplummer. Friends may call Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 1PM until service time at the mortuary.
