Woodmen eliminated by Dragons

Greenwood saw its sectional run cut short on Tuesday with a 25-11, 25-11, 25-15 first-round loss to Class 3A No. 8 New Palestine at Roncalli. The Woodmen stayed close in the early part of each set before the Dragons — who will face Indian Creek in a semifinal match Saturday morning — used lengthy surges to finish them off.

Lancers swept by Morristown

Edinburgh’s season came to an end with a 25-17, 25-15, 25-18 loss to Morristown in the opening round of the Class A North Decatur Sectional. Kenna Streeval had 10 kills and 21 digs in a losing effort for the Lancers, who also got 19 digs from Elizabeth Hernandez and 16 assists from Kinzie Purvis.

Cougars roll into semifinals

Greenwood Christian opened postseason play with a commanding 25-3, 25-2, 25-8 victory over Providence Cristo Rey in the first round of the Class A Indianapolis Lutheran Sectional. The Cougars (18-13) will face Victory College Prep in a Saturday morning semifinal.
