GREENWOOD
Gilbert E. Coy, 91, of Greenwood, passed away on October 17, 2024. Born on November 1, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Paul E. Coy, Sr. and Hilda Frieda Coy.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired after 38 years from Allison Transmission. After retirement he grew tomatoes and worked for a farmer. He enjoyed repairing clocks, traveling and wintering in Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Nadine Coy; daughters, Patricia (Kevin) Wheatcraft and Sandra Coy; grandchildren, Joseph Wheatcraft and Christina Wheatcraft; great grandchildren, Abigail, Dylan, Keira, and Corbin; and great great grandson, Tripp.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vonda Gill; and his brother, Paul Coy, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the service time at 11:30 AM Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
