Girls Inc., Exchange Club host Halloween event

Girls Inc. of Johnson County and the Johnson County Exchange Club are inviting local residents for a scary good time at a Halloween-themed fundraiser.

Monster Mash, featuring dancing, food and music, will be 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church, 1300 E. Adams St., Franklin. All ages are welcome and prizes will be available for the best costumes. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Dance instructors Meagan Edwards and Shelby Couch worked with Girls Inc. and the Exchange Club to create the event. Organizers are hoping to raise $5,000 to support both the missions of Girls Inc. and the Exchange Club. Attendees are encouraged to give a monetary donation as admission.

Girls Inc. of Johnson County is the preeminent girls’ leadership organization equipping girls to reach their full potential. Through a variety of programs, the goal is to build a new generation of strong, smart, and bold leaders through direct service and advocacy.

Johnson County Exchange Club aims to make a difference in the communities by sponsoring Americanism programs. To date, the club has raised funds to house 687 homeless Hoosier veterans as well as youth programs, community service and its foremost project, the prevention of child abuse.
