Brian Lebowitz, head men’s basketball coach at Franklin College the past two seasons, announced Monday that he is stepping down from his position.

Anyone who has watched an NCAA tournament upset unfold, whether on TV or in person, has felt that gradual build toward a crescendo as the underdog’s hopes become more and more realistic.

Playing their first NCAA tournament game since 2008, the Franklin College men’s basketball team looked to keep its unlikely postseason run going when it traveled to face top-seeded Illinois Wesleyan in the opening round of the NCAA Division III championships on Friday night.
