Dwight D. Goldsmith, 68, of Edinburgh, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at his residence.
He was born April 15, 1945, in Johnson County to the late Elmo and Velma (Rooks) Goldsmith.
He married Sharon Goldsmith; and she preceded him in death. He married Ruth (Engle) Goldsmith in 2006; and she survives.
He also is survived by his children, David D. (Barb) Goldsmith, Christopher O. Goldsmith, Gregory A. (Donna) Halcomb and Octava D. (Pat) Finley, all of Edinburgh, Donald S. (Melissa) Goldsmith and Sherry M. (Daniel) Lewis, both of Franklin, Paul David (Dana Camp) Halcomb of Columbus, Matthew Wayne Halcomb of Seymour, Sharon R. (Mark) Clem of Morgantown and Rita G. (Gary) Rhoades of Columbus; siblings, Gilbert (Barb) Goldsmith of Yellow Springs, W.Va., Nancy (Bruce) Campbell of Nineveh, Jeanie (Larry) Estes of Edinburgh and Betty (Darrell) Cummings of Trafalgar; 28 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He retired from Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and all sports.
He was a member of Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Who So Ever Will Community Church, 623 S. Eisenhower Drive, Edinburgh. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
