Enjoy a tradition: Taste of the Southside

For the past 24 years, the Taste of the Southside has established itself as a culinary tradition. But traditions can change.

The Taste of the Southside will again feature dozens of vendors serving more than 100 different samples of food and beverages. But some changes are in the works for this year’s event, said Christian Maslowski, CEO of Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.

Organizers opted to move the event from February to November. “The restaurants love it in November, since it’s right before that holiday party and holiday catering time,” Maslowski said. “The Taste had actually been held in Nov-ember for the first 17 or 18 years of the event.”

The chamber has launched its very own app, Southside Tastebuds. The app, available on iPhone and Android, features information about exhibitions at the event, and lets people keep track of their dining experiences throughout the year, Maslowski said.

The Taste of the Southside will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Primo Banquet, 2615 National Ave, Indianapolis. Tickets are $40. Early access passes are available for $45, allowing people to enter at 4 p.m. Go to greenwood chamber.com/taste to buy.
