Center Grove sweeps Plainfield

Center Grove beat Plainfield in both girls and boys competition Tuesday. The Trojans started out the night with an 112-74 victory for the girls followed by the boys winning a close match 94-89 to complete the sweep.

Whiteland defeats Shelbyville

Whiteland’s girls and boys triumphed against Shelbyville on Tuesday. The girls came out on top 136-49, while the boys won 117-68 in their meet.

The girls were led by their 200-yard medley relay team of Kenna Gough, Lissy Vanette, Kylie Perry and Averie Myers, who broke the school record with a time of 1:57.42. Perry also broke a school record in the 500 freestyle and won the 200 freestyle. Gough took first in the 100 freestyle, while Vanette won the 100 breaststroke and Myers the 50 freestyle. Gough, Perry and Myers also won first place in the 400-yard relay along with Morgan Giroud, who completed her night with first-place finishes in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly. Maria Campbell took first in the diving competition.

For the boys, Tad Halle had two individual wins and swam on two victorious relay teams. Brenden Gough was on both winning relays and added a victory in the 500 freestyle. Sam Walls and Matthew Kovacs were double winners for Whiteland, which also got first-place finishes from Nick Klenner and diver Austin Adkins. Josh Moody joined Halle, Gough and Kovacs in winning the medley relay.
