James L. “Jim” Sommers

<p>James L. “Jim” Sommers, 50, died peacefully Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a brief illness with an aggressive respiratory disease.</p>
<p>He was born Jan. 10, 1966, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Alvin and Ronna (Smith) Sommers.</p>
<p>Our friend had a love for a good party, the outdoors, playing euchre, cooking, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, camping, fishing and the Packers. What he treasured most was sharing these things with his boys. He loved his boys so much, and spending time with them was his priority.</p>
<p>Jim is survived by his sons, Lance and Spencer; a sister, Deb (Steve) Crocker of Memphis, Tennessee; brother, Chris Sommers of Edgerton, Wisconsin; and many other relatives and friends.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents.</p>
<p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 221 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, with Msgr. Douglas Dushack presiding. A visitation will be 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, with a procession to the church for the Mass starting at 11 a.m.</p>
