Report: Jewelry, cash stolen from home

Deputies are investigating a burglary at a home southwest of Franklin after cash and jewelry were reported stolen Tuesday afternoon.

When a homeowner returned at 4 p.m. to his house on the 2000 block of South County Road 75W, he noticed a back sliding glass door was partially open, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.

He told police about $550 in cash and coins from two piggy banks and a jar was stolen, along with about 20 necklaces worth $500, the report said.

Another resident was in the home until 2 p.m. but told police she didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary before she left the house, the report said.
