A woman was taken to the hospital after she was struck by a car in a Center Grove area neighborhood while walking her dog.
Young Soon Choi, 59, of Greenwood, was crossing the intersection of Berry Road and Cobblestone Drive in Brockton Manor just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when she was hit by a car making a left turn, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.
The driver, Donna Kelker, 64, of Greenwood, told police she was driving north on Berry Road and slowed down before turning. She looked in the intersection and didn’t see anything, and began to turn when she hit the woman, the report said.
The area was lighted, but not very bright, the report said.
Emergency workers believed Choi could have multiple broken bones. She was taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital, the report said. She was listed in good condition Wednesday morning, according to a hospital spokesperson.
