A man was arrested on charges of battery, domestic battery, strangulation, residential entry, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
•East Main Street and North Graham Road: Police responded at 12:17 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a woman being battered and having her ID stolen.

•Forever 21, 1251 U.S. 31 North: Police responded at 3 p.m. Tuesday to a report of four people shoplifting at the store.
•CVS, 655 U.S. 31 South: Police responded at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to a report of theft.

Burglary
2500 block of South County Road 75W, Franklin: Police responded at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a residential burglary. Piggy banks containing cash, jars with change and jewelry were stolen.
