Greenwood man faces felony child porn charges

A Greenwood man has been charged with five felonies after a police investigation uncovered child pornography on his computer.

Matthew C. Bauman, 33, of 1254 Stonehedge Drive, was arrested this week on a warrant for the charges, stemming from an investigation that began in June, according to court documents.

The National Center of Missing and Exploited Children notified Indianapolis Metropolitan Police that a person had uploaded child pornography last summer. Police traced the mobile number used back to Bauman, court documents said.

When police went to Bauman’s apartment, he told them he had downloaded about 500 pornographic images into a file on his computer at one time, documents said.

The five felony charges are related to five photos that police found during a forensic search of Bauman’s computer. The photos were downloaded and viewed one morning in August, after the initial investigation began.

Bauman was held at the Johnson County jail on $15,000 bond.
