FRANKLIN
Beverly Jean (Merrill) Woods, 92, formerly of New Castle, passed away May 2 at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.
She was born May 24, 1924, in Battle Creek, Michigan, to the late David and Edith Merrill.
She married Taylor Clark Woods on Feb. 6, 1946, and they moved to New Castle in 1963.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor; son, David; and sister, Ione.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Julie Woods Leonard (Lloyd) and son, Robbie Woods (Linda); daughter-in-law, Nancy Woods; niece, Judy Martin; grandchildren, Lisa Euwer, Kim Woods Hamilton, Chris Sullivan, Kim Toth, Todd Ashman, John Meek, Jodi Gaydusek, Grier Leonard, Amy Meek Littiken, Wendi Gore, David Meek, Chris Woods and Sara Russell; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Beverly was a loving, devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
She was a member of the Saint James Episcopal Church in New Castle and loved her involvement in a local craft club and making Faberge eggs.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S. Memorial Drive, New Castle, with calling hours from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Father Whitney Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens.
