Grizzly Cubs sweep Hawks

Alyvia Sundheimer had 10 kills and Kabria Chapman added nine as Franklin picked up an easy 25-18, 25-14, 25-11 win against Decatur Central on Tuesday.

Brooke Phillips added 28 assists, eight digs and five kills for the Grizzly Cubs (9-1, 2-0 Mid-State).

GCA sweeps Monrovia

Grace Peters had 10 kills and 13 digs to help lead Class A No. 7 Greenwood Christian to a 25-21, 25-21, 25-15 sweep of Monrovia on Tuesday.

Lexi Odgers added six aces and 25 assists for the Cougars (8-1).

Woodmen handle Mooresville

Greenwood completed a 26-24, 25-22, 25-21 sweep of Mooresville in Mid-State Conference play Tuesday. Alyssa Stilley had 14 kills and seven blocks to lead the Woodmen (5-8, 2-0).

Rebels fall to Cathedral

Roncalli nearly knocked off defending Class 4A state champion Cathedral on Tuesday before falling in five sets, 11-25, 20-25, 26-24, 26-24, 15-8.

Hannah Irmer pulled up her 1,000th career dig in the loss, while Grace Hegwood totaled 25 kills and 17 digs for the Rebels.

Boys soccer

Cougars stay unbeaten

An unassisted tally by freshman Styles McCorkle held up for Greenwood Christian in a 1-0 triumph against Bethesda Christian on Tuesday.

Gabe Vessely made nine saves for the Cougars (5-0-1, 3-0 PAAC).

Rebels edge Warriors

Roncalli defeated Warren Central on Tuesday, 3-2, behind goals from Mateo Gonzalez, Vince Agramonte and Robert Thang.

Girls golf

Braves win three-way

Lauren Parsley and Jacqui Button shot 45 and 46, respectively, to lead Indian Creek past Edgewood and South Putnam on Tuesday.

On Monday, Parsley was the tournament medalist with a round of 78 as the Braves finished second at the Western Indiana Conference championships. Button (seventh) and Olivia Parsley (10th) also earned spots on the all-conference team.

GCA manages split

Greenwood Christian finished second in a three-way meet with Decatur Central and Indianapolis Shortridge on Tuesday, posting a team score of 230. Allison Christie led the Cougars with a 56.

Boys tennis

Braves clinch division crown

A comeback win by Scott Russell at No. 1 singles lifted Indian Creek to a 3-2 win against Edgewood and into the WIC championship match.

Down 5-4 in the third set, Russell won the final three games of the match to seal it for the Braves (5-1, 3-0). Markus Lang and Jake Mitchell earned victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles.

Trojans pull out victory

Eli Lawyer-Smith and Mitch Runkle won a third-set tiebreaker to give Center Grove a 3-2 win against Lawrence North on Tuesday.

J.T. Embrey was a winner at No. 3 singles for the Trojans (4-5), while Mason Runkle and Grant Herron earned a point at No. 2 doubles.

Rebels sweep Beech Grove

Roncalli swept its way to a 5-0 win against Beech Grove on Tuesday. Bryson Meek, Alex Payne and Austin Schofield swept the three singles points for the Rebels (3-4).

Garrett Meek and Jacob Perez won at No. 1 doubles, and Tyler Pollard and Tyler Schofield were victorious at No. 2.
