High school football: Scouting tonight’s sectional finals

Kickoff: 7 p.m.

Webcast: centergrovefootball.com

Recent history: The Trojans beat the Bull Dogs 41-14 in last year’s sectional final and have won the past five meetings by an average of 30 points.

Sagarin ratings: Columbus North 95.23 (10th overall, ninth in Class 6A), Center Grove 103.82 (fourth overall and in 6A)

Players to watch: Columbus North — QB Trenton Kelley, RB Cortez Bandy, WR Jaylen Flemmons, LB Brigham Kleinhenz, CB J.D. Harris; Center Grove — QB Jackson Moore, RB Carson Steele, WR Jacob Keith, DL Austin Daming, CB Tyler Watson

What to look for: The Trojans shook off a 4-5 regular season with a convincing rout of Franklin Central last week, serving notice that they’re not going to be that easy to dethrone. The Bull Dogs’ lone loss this year came against that same Flashes team. North has some dynamic skill players, but recent history indicates that its schedule hasn’t prepared it for a team like Center Grove. Will this year be different?

Notable: Columbus North coach Tim Bless has been suspended due to a physical altercation with an assistant during the team’s Week 9 game at Southport.

Kickoff: 7 p.m.

Radio: KORN Country 100.3

Recent history: The Woodmen have won the past nine meetings, including a 51-21 triumph on Sept. 8.

Sagarin ratings: Greenwood 77.85 (30th overall, third in 4A), Mooresville 48.63 (149th overall, 35th in 4A)

Players to watch: Greenwood — QB Seth Gallman, RB Nick Willham, TE Conner Battinau, DE Jake Patton, LB Bryce Taylor; Mooresville — QB Karson Goodman, RB James Mabry, WR Eli Bunch, LB Ryan Spangler, LB Hunter Brown

What to look for: The Pioneers started 0-8 but are a totally different team since Goodman took over for Bunch under center, and they’re starting to click. Bunch has 30 catches for 548 yards in five games at wideout. Mooresville still is a heavy underdog against the Woodmen, but this should be a more interesting game than the one these two teams played almost two months ago.
