George Robert "Bob" Tyler

INDIANAPOLIS

George Robert (Bob) Tyler peacefully passed away January 18th, 2018. He was son to George Stanley Tyler and Eva Tyler (Wilson).

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ann Tyler (Stirsman), brother Bud Tyler (Judy), son David Tyler (Megan) and five grandchildren, Renee (Dom)Turner (Tyler), Cassandra Tyler, Amber Murphy, Nichole Tyler and Ian Murphy, and former wife, Louise Tyler (Hash). He was born May 11, 1940.

He was a graduate of Washington "Continentals" High School and a member of the 1959 undefeated city championship football team. He was employed with Ford Motor Company for 39 years; and he enjoyed coaching little league boys basketball and girls softball. Fishing was his favorite past time as well as following NASCAR, Colts and the Pacers through the years. He spent a few fun years "under the lights" at IRP as a pitman for Bob Coffee.

You were loved by many and will be dearly missed but you’re in heaven with no more pain or suffering, Pop.

The viewing is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, Greenwood, Indiana.
