County jobless rate remains below 3%

The county’s unemployment rate fell again last month, remaining under 3 percent

In December, the county’s unemployment rate was 2.5 percent, down from 2.8 percent in November and from 3.2 percent in December 2016, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Unemployment rates dropped elsewhere in central Indiana. The statewide rate fell to 3.4 percent, down from 3.7 percent in November and 4 percent in December 2016, according to the state report.

Johnson County was one of 39 counties in the state with an unemployment rate less than 3 percent.
