Former Center Grove athlete breaking own marks at Davidson

Davidson track and field runner Tori Long lowered her own indoor record in the 400-meter dash at the Wake Forest Invitational.

Finishing in a time of 59.06 seconds, Long, a junior who graduated from Center Grove High School, now owns the program’s four fastest times in the indoor 400.

CENTER GROVE

Lipscomb point guard Lauren Rau had eight points and four assists in a 59-55 home loss to Stetson. The sophomore followed that with five points, four assists and three rebounds against Florida Gulf Coast.

Indiana State’s first two-game winning streak of the season in women’s basketball included four points and two rebounds from Regan Wentland against Bradley. The junior also had four points and two boards against Illinois State.

Freshman guard Val Clark contributed a steal in seven minutes off the bench in Eastern Kentucky’s 48-44 win against Jacksonville State.

Jessica Norris scored 17 points and delivered seven assist in Holy Cross College’s 83-77 loss at Cardinal Stritch. The junior also grabbed three rebounds. Norris finished with 18 points and four steals in a two-point loss to Trinity Christian.

Adrian (Michigan) men’s basketball guard Kas Oganowski had a rebound and an assist in his team’s 73-66 loss to Alma.

FRANKLIN

Sam Barnett ran a time of 25.55 seconds in the 200-meter dash for Marian at the NAIA-NCAA Challenge at Olivet Nazarene. He also represented the Knights in the 4×400 relay.

Manchester track athlete Travis Murr won the 60-meter dash at an invitational hosted by Trine University. Murr’s time of 7.07 seconds established a new school record. He was selected as Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference athlete of the week for men’s track and field.

Butler’s Chandler McGaha placed third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.7 at Indiana’s Gladstein Invitational.

Junior Adam Destrampe helped Indiana’s third-ranked men’s swimming and diving squad coast to a 206-92 win over Purdue. Destrampe won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:26.93 and took second in the 1,000 free in a time of 9:16.69.

St. Mary-of-the-Woods snapped a three-game losing streak with an 84-58 decision against Danville Area Community College. Tara Parmer, a senior guard, scored only two points in the win, but dished out nine assists to go along with her five rebounds and four steals.

INDIAN CREEK

Levi Brock’s second-place effort in the 100-yard breaststroke helped Indiana down Purdue 206-92 in men’s swimming. Wyeth Brock came in seventh in the 200 backstroke.

Dylan Phair erupted for 29 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Indiana Tech’s men’s basketball squad to a 74-67 overtime victory against NAIA Division II No. 1 Cornerstone. He also scored 17 points to go along with four boards and three assists in a 90-81 victory against Aquinas.

WHITELAND

Freshman guard Sidney Crowe scored seven points, had five rebounds and dealt two assists as St. Francis handled Bethel an 83-58 loss. Crowe played Wednesday at Marian, scoring 10 points and grabbing five rebounds in a 69-51 loss to the Knights.

Kate White came off the bench to corral a rebound in Indiana Tech’s 74-50 win against Cornerstone.

GREENWOOD

Holly Hoopingarner had four assists and two rebounds in IUPUI’s 64-61 win at Wright State.

Jae Taft scored a point and collected two rebounds off the bench in Olivet Nazarene’s 91-89 loss to St. Xavier.
