<strong>Health screenings offered at church</strong>

A local church is hosting health screenings for local residents.

Life Line Screening will be at Fair Haven Christian Church, 1476 W. County Road 300S, on April 24.

Screenings can look for the level of plaque in the arteries, cholesterol levels, diabetes risk, bone density and kidney and thyroid function.

Packages begin at $149, but prices vary.

<strong>Indy hospital hosting education courses</strong>

Franciscan Health Indianapolis is offering classes to help people take care of their hearts.

Classes are:
<ul>
<li>Am I safe from a heart attack: 6:30 p.m. April 24. During this program, Dr. Carl Rouch will talk about recognizing the signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke, and preventing one from even happening.</li>
<li>Protect yourself from stroke: 6:30 p.m. May 17, Dr. Abdel Almanfi, an interventional cardiologist, will share what you need to know about risk factors for stroke and how to manage them. He’ll also discuss the early signs of “mini-strokes” known as TIAs and options to lower your risk of having a stroke.</li>
<li>Meatless meals made easy: 6:30 p.m. April 25: This class will help you with menu planning and provide recipes so you can incorporate more meatless meals into your daily life.</li>
</ul>
