Our Town Players perform “Mama Won’t Fly.”

Our Town Players will be telling the story of a family road trip in their upcoming spring production.

“Mama Won’t Fly,” by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten will be 8 p.m. April 27 and 28 and 2 p.m. April 28 and 29 at 160 E. Adams St., Franklin.

The show, directed by Lauren Underwood, follows a mother, daughter and her soon-to-be daughter-in-law on a road trip from Alabama to California in time for a family wedding. The family must deal with the theft of their car and clothing, the accidental homicide of a relative, a dash across a desert, a near fatal encounter at an underwear museum and a fight with a showgirl. The women on the road trip deal with wanting to ditch each other on the cross country trek.

The cast includes Denise Kattau Rush, Robin Nolan, Hannah Gray, Debbie Calvert Jones, William Creviston, Mike Jones, Audrey Clark, David Piland, Lauren Underwood, Tyler Lehner, James Marietta, Cara Kelsay, Lisa Dean Hoskinson, John Hoskinson, Monica Register Jolley and Rick Rush.

Tickets prices are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students.

The community theater troupe will next produce “The Many Disguises of Robin Hood,” in July and August.

Auditions for that show are 7 p.m. May 29 and 30 at 160 E. Adams St., Franklin. Roles are available for all ages.
