EDINBURGH
Nellie Petro, 79, of Edinburgh, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Mrs. Petro was born July 13, 1938, in Brown County, the daughter of James Marion and Dora Mathis Lucas. On April 9, 1956, she married Maurice C. Petro in Brown County, Indiana.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (Rick) Rice of Edinburgh, Joe (Susan) Petro of Ogleville, Darrell Petro, James (Angie) Petro, both of Edinburgh, Deneise (Rick) Poe of Franklin, Belinda (John) Harpring also of Edinburgh, Nikki (Chris) Garner of Franklin; grandchildren, Amanda (Greg) Roberts, Dereck (Ellen) Rice, Jeremy (Megan) Harpring, Ashley (David) Myers, Brandy Petro, Rachel (Richard) Vinson, Brandon (Marlana) Rice, Jamey Harpring, Lanell Petro, Bobbie Sue Petro, Eric Poe, Lori Burton; 26 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rev. Kenneth (Sue) Lucas, Betty (Rev. Paul) Hardin, Dollly (Keith) Matlock, all of Brown County; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Rev. Charles Kellley officiating. Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Green Valley Cemetery in Brown County.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.
