Nineveh Fire Department hosting community day

A volunteer fire department in the southern part of the county is offering local residents the chance to try their equipment, have lunch and see what happens in an emergency.

Nineveh Fire Department, 844 E. County Road 775S is hosting a community day from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 26.

Firefighters and EMTs will be available for a meet and greet. The day will also include a tour of the fire house, fire trucks and the ambulance.

Residents can also try on fire gear and spray a fire house and learn about the history of the fire department.

Firefighters and other first responders will give you a peek into what happens when someone calls 911. First aid education is also included.

Music performances and a bounce house will round out the day.

Free hotdogs and drinks will be served. Prince’s Lakes police department will be a special guest.
