A Franklin man has been arrested on a charge of rape and criminal confinement in what police are calling an attack against an acquaintance.
Shawn M. Tomblin, 25, was arrested on charges of domestic battery, disorderly conduct, rape and interference with reporting a crime.
Police were called to a home shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday after a woman’s relative reported a domestic disturbance, Franklin Police Chief Tim O’Sullivan said. The incident was not a random attack, O’Sullivan said.
Tomblin had broken the woman’s phone, so she could not call for help, O’Sullivan said. He could not elaborate on her injuries or other details.
Tomblin was held at the Johnson County jail. The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office will decide what, if any, charges to file.
