Jean, Gillard tee off in Illinois
Sam Jean shot a 1-over-par 71 on Tuesday and sits in a tie for 32nd place after the first round of the Western Junior Championship at Evanston Country Club in Skokie, Illinois.
Jean’s former Center Grove teammate, Noah Gillard, finished his round with a 73, good for a 71st-place tie in the field of 156. Luke Armbrust and Karl Vilips top the leaderboard after both shooting 66.
