Scooter driver sought in crash

Investigators are looking for the driver of a scooter caught on video hitting a car last week in a Center Grove area neighborhood.

Just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a woman’s vehicle was struck while parked on the street in the 300 block of White Oak Lane in the Walnut Woods neighborhood.

The woman didn’t notice the damage until the next day, and then learned that a neighbor’s surveillance camera caught the crash, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report. She called the sheriff’s office to make the report.

The video shows two people, who appear to be adults, riding scooters along the road. They turn around in a cul-de-sac and the female scooter driver hits the woman’s car. The driver of the scooter falls to the ground.

The man and woman driving scooters look at the vehicle and then both leave, the video shows.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Jason Wools through the the sheriff’s office tip line at 317-346-4654.
