Recycling district to offer shredding

The Johnson County Recycling District and Shares will host a document shredding and electronics collection event in August.

County residents can bring documents to be shredded or electronics to be collected from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 4 at 900 Arvin Road Suite A., Franklin. 

The event is free and open to county residents and businesses. 

 Documents will be collected in locked containers and shredded off-site at Shares, Inc. in Shelbyville.

Electronics will also be accepted, with the exception of televisions and computer monitors.

The Johnson County Tox Box will be open for residential use 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 4, at 1051 Hospital Road, Franklin.

The following items are accepted at the Tox Box: household cleaning supplies, yard and pool chemicals, automotive fluids, poisons, aerosol can, adhesives, oil based paint and stain.

No latex paint or batteries will be accepted.
