<p><strong>Gildersleeve reaches ‘B’ final at nationals</strong></p>
<p>Franklin’s Carla Gildersleeve earned a spot in the ‘B’ final of the 100-meter butterfly Thursday at the Speedo Junior Nationals in Irvine, California.</p>
<p>Gildersleeve finished her preliminary swim in 1 minute, 1.62 seconds, good for 16th among 110 finishers. The finals, in the evening session, were contested after the Daily Journal’s deadline.</p>
<p>On the boys side, Jacob Destrampe finished 94th in the 100 fly with a time of 57.39 seconds.</p>

<p><strong>Grizzly Cubs top Falcons</strong></p>
<p>Franklin used a balanced effort to cruise past Perry Meridian, 163 to 192, on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Ellie Beavins and Ava Ray both carded rounds of 40 to lead the Grizzly Cubs. Taylor Drake finished with a 41 and Carly Woodward added a 42 to round out the scoring.</p>
