Greenwood man charged with child molesting

A Greenwood man has been charged with child molesting after police said he touched a child inappropriately in May.

Christopher Scott Dietzel, 34, 614 Cross Wind Drive, was charged with the felony, which carries a sentence of up to four years in prison.

The child reported the incident to a family member who then contacted police, according to court documents.

The girl told police Dietzel had come into her bedroom and touched her. He returned later to ask if he had made her feel uncomfortable and apologized several times, the report said. The girl told police Dietzel had made her feel uncomfortable in the past by having her sit in his lap and rubbing her stomach, the report said.

Dietzel declined to comment to police and has hired an attorney.

He was released from the Johnson County jail on $600 bond after his arrest earlier this week.
