GREENWOOD
Jerry Dale Shemwell, 70, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on May 17, 1948 to JP and Ella Pauline (Poe) Shemwell in Todd County, KY. Both parents preceded him in death. He served valiantly in the United States Army, fighting in the Vietnam War. When he arrived home, he worked for Royal Food Products as a maintenance supervisor for 38 years until his retirement in 2013.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 31 years, Robin (McDonald) Shemwell; four children, Tracy (Denise) McCoy, Lynn (Justin) Shemwell Gillespie, Greg (Beth) Bailey, and Jeremy (Christin) Shemwell; as well as three grandchildren. He also leaves behind his three siblings Darrell Shemwell, Judy (Michael) Stevens, and Janice (Jim) Stevens and many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 2 from 4 – 8 pm at Little and Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 3 at 11 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Orchard Hills Cemetery in Wanamaker, Indiana.
