Earlywood Education Center student brings knife to school

<p>An Earlywood Education Center student was arrested after police said he brought a knife to the school and swung it at a teacher.</p><p>A teacher reported at 10:24 a.m. Wednesday that the student brought a knife into the school at 500 Earlywood Drive in Franklin, according to a report from the Franklin Police Department.</p><p>The student swung the knife at the teacher when the teacher attempted to take the knife. The teacher was not hurt and students were evacuated from the classroom, according to a report from the Franklin Police Department.</p><p>A police officer asked for the knife and the student attempted to conceal the knife by sitting on it. The knife had a 6 1/2-inch blade, the report said.</p><p>The student was taken to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center. </p>
