County unemployment rate continues slide

<p>Johnson County’s unemployment rate continues to drop, hitting 2.5 percent for September, less than the state rate of 3 percent and ranking the third lowest among central Indiana counties, behind Hamilton and Boone counties.</p><p>Out of 92 counties, Johnson County’s rate is the 21<sup>st</sup> lowest, according to a report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. The rate is also lower than a year ago, when unemployment was 3 percent rate in Johnson County in September 2017.</p><p>Just more than 80,000 Johnson County residents were employed in September, while about 2,000 were unemployed.</p>
