Letter: Columnist can’t criticize Democrats while praising Trump

To the editor:

In response to Jay Ambrose, guest columnist, I have some harsh words!! You and others of like opinions are insulting!

Every time someone says anything about the Trumps, you insult the persons and call them names. Lest you forget, Michelle Obama was called a "monkey in high heels" by someone of your bent. I do believe this was a verbal assault on a First Lady that was about her person and not her taste in Christmas trees or her expensive clothes.

Perhaps you should take Melania’s position. "People have different tastes." She was matter of fact about the comment and did not take to defending her choice or insulting the commentator.

The red trees were shocking in their profusion. I could only think of her country’s Communist background and how long America responded to the "Red" threats in the world. In that vein, the trees did look menacing.

I also thought that the red trees represented the Republican Party and President Trump’s fondness for wearing red ties. Perhaps she was pleasing him with a show of support.

As for Melania’s wardrobe, she possesses $50 million of her own money and she has been a fashion model. She has expensive and impeccable taste. Her clothes can only be compared with other women of the monied class who can afford designer clothes and look terrific in them. I do think she overdressed for her African tour, but that may not have been her fault.

As for the love of immigrants, Mr. Ambrose, I disdain the President’s comments about them when he has always married women from other countries. How dare he insult Central American people with his comments when he admitted and gave American citizenship to Melania’s father who was a known Communist Party leader in his country. He refuses chain migration to others but, not to members of his own family.

You have no place writing the things you have said about Democrats when you hold up Donald Trump for praise. You have no place insulting liberals who hold immigrants as welcomed people when you do not write against pharmaceutical companies which continue to sell opioid products that killed 72,000 Americans last year. They are a menace. Profit over ethics. And… if America lost 72,000 people last year, we could use a few thousand immigrants to fill their places.

Remember, Mr. Ambrose, unless you are a Native American, you are from immigrant decent!
