SCROOGED, 8 p.m., Edinburgh Pixy Theatre, 111. S. Walnut St. $5.

The story of Ebenezer Scrooge and "A Christmas Carol" is a timeless holiday classic. The tale has been told in so many different ways that it’s difficult to come up with a new angle.

But Bill Murray and the cast of "Scrooged" achieved that. Murray plays Frank Cross, a selfish 1980s television executive who is visited by three not-so-nice spirits on the same night he tries to stage a live TV spectacular.

Tickets are available at the Edinburgh Parks and Recreation office, 722 S. Eisenhower Drive, from noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

SANTA CLAUS VISITS, 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, New Whiteland Fire Department Station 11, 500 Sweetbriar Road.

Santa Claus will be making his annual journey around the world to see all of the good boys and girls on Christmas Eve. But local families can get their last-minute requests and photos with St. Nick during the special event hosted by the New Whiteland Fire Department.

Families can take photos of their children with Santa in the warmth of the fire station, without heavy coats and hats covering them up. Cookies and refreshments will be served.

At 5 p.m., the fire station will close, allowing Santa and the rest of the fire department to get ready for the annual Santa Parade through New Whiteland.
