‘Find my iPad’ feature leads police to burglary suspect

Police arrested an Indianapolis man after a Greenwood woman came home to find him in her garage.

Noble Scott Greene, 28, 9036 E. 36th Street, was arrested on a charge of burglary after police say he stole several highly priced items from a home in the 700 block of Keepsake Run, on the far eastside of Greenwood.

The woman told police she came home around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday to find a white truck she had never seen before parked in her driveway, partially inside her garage. She drove past her house at first, she said.

When she turned around and pulled into her driveway, Greene was standing in her garage, she told police. When he noticed her, he jumped in his truck and sped off, a Greenwood police report said.

She believes she accidentally left her garage door open overnight, the report said.

The homeowner told police that two iPads were missing from the home, and they were able to use the "Find my iPad feature" to help Indianapolis police locate Greene driving near his home on the eastside, the report said.

Indianapolis police stopped the vehicle. He told them a friend was behind him in a dark-colored Saturn, the report said.

A neighbor’s surveillance video showed the Saturn and Greene’s truck parked side-by-side on Keepsake Run before the burglary, according to the report.

Inside the Saturn, police found a 52-inch flat-screen TV and several handbags that were also stolen from the Greenwood home.

Greene is being held at the Johnson County jail on $6,600 bond.
