Four arrested after 40 needles, suspected meth, heroin found in vehicle

<p>Four people were arrested on multiple drug charges after police stopped a vehicle in Greenwood and found two scales, dozens of needles and at least two types of drugs.</p><p>Two passengers and the driver were also arrested in 2018 on drug charges, including a woman who was arrested in a drug and counterfeiting arrest sweep in Franklin in March.</p><p>All of the people in the car were arrested in the Friday incident. The suspects arrested are:</p>[sc:text-divider text-divider-title="Story continues below gallery" ]Click here to purchase photos from this gallery<p>Madison Kathleen Kristel, 20, 1062 Millstone Court, Franklin, arrested on charges of restricted use of a drug injection device, dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and several warrants for failure to appear in court.</p><p>Michael P. Day III, 21, 12478 N. Woodlawn Drive, Martinsville, arrested on charges of driving while suspended with a previous conviction, restricted use of a drug injection device, possession of methamphetamine and dealing methamphetamine.</p><p>Scott Thomas Baker, 31, 8856 Bison Club Drive, Apt. C, Indianapolis, arrested on charges of restricted use of a drug injection device, dealing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.</p><p>Gunnar Anthony Cole Shaw, 23, 186 E. Main St., Greenwood, arrested on charges of restricted use of a drug injection device, dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and a warrant to face charges in another county.</p><p>A Greenwood police officer stopped the vehicle about 9:30 p.m. Friday on Main Street near Graham Road because the license plate was not registered to the vehicle.</p><p>Baker, a passenger, claimed the vehicle belonged to his girlfriend and was recently purchased. No one in the vehicle had a driver’s license, the report said.</p><p>Police searched Day and found a needle. Police searched the car and found two bags with methamphetamine and a bag of what the officer believed to be heroin.</p><p>A backpack in the vehicle had 40 unused needles in their original packaging, one needle that appeared to be unused but was not packaged and two needles that were filled with a liquid substance. Officers also found 72 dark colored baggies and a scale, the report said.</p><p>Five needles and a container with methamphetamine residue were found in a bag where Shaw was sitting in the vehicle. A second scale was also found in the vehicle.</p><p>They were arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail.</p><p>According to court records, Kristel was arrested in March after she was in a home in Franklin where police found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia such as a pipe and syringes, and a printer with counterfeit money inside. She was charged with possession of a syringe and sentenced to a year of probation, but that had been revoked and she was wanted in court on a failure to appear charge.</p><p>Shaw was arrested for possession of marijuana. That case was resolved in July 2018 in Marion County with Shaw sentenced to four days in jail and community service work.</p><p>Day has a pending case in Marion County from December on two felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and a needle, according to court records.</p>
