<p><strong>To the editor:</strong></p><p>Republicans had majority control of the House and Senate along with President Trump in the White House for two years and funding for a border wall never came up and never caused a government shutdown. Why, now that Democrats have the majority in the House, is immigration suddenly a national crisis warranting shutting down part of the government unless there is funding for a wall?</p><p>This shutdown is pure political folly and gamesmanship needs to end.</p><p>Respectfully,</p><p><p><strong>Thomas Blake</strong></p><p><p><strong>Greenwood</strong></p>
