Letter: Letter: School secretary was invaluable to Franklin Schools

To the editor:

I want the public to realize what a valuable resource Franklin Schools had in Montrew Gross. Any teacher who taught while Montrew was a Franklin School secretary can tell you how valuable she was to the school district. She not only took care of the central office, she placed all substitute teachers in the classrooms. She even had a telephone installed in her bathroom to accommodate the time necessary to retrieve all calls from ill teachers and calls to replace them. She was sweet, kind and always friendly. When she retired, three secretaries were hired to fill her position and principals were required to find their own substitute teachers. Some never get the recognition they deserve for such a job well done. Rest in peace, Montrew, and know that your work at Franklin will always be valued by those you touched.
