Airport police found the body of a Greenwood man who has been missing since February.
Christopher Jones, 41, of Greenwood, was found Sunday night along the southwest perimeter of the Indy South Greenwood Airport, 897 Airport Parkway, said Matt Fillenwarth, assistant chief of the Greenwood Police Department.
Police said no foul play or suspicious activity is suspected. The Johnson County Coroner’s Office is performing an autopsy, and the cause of death is under investigation, county coroner Craig Lutz said.
Family members reported Jones missing on Feb. 8.Â
A close friend or family member found his shoes near Pleasant Creek, and police focused the search in the woods west of the airport property, Fillenwarth said.
"It is my understanding that his body had been there for a while," he said. "There’s nothing suspicious or foul play about it."
The body was discovered about 7:45 p.m. Sunday.
