Families and runners and walks can lace up their running shoes to help support 17 causes in the county.

The fourth annual Rock the Block event is this weekend.

Rock the Block is a 10K (timed) run, 5K walk/run and a free kids run at Center Grove High School. The event includes scenic courses, food, music, vendors, awards and giveaways.

More than 1,500 participants and hundreds of spectators and volunteers participated in 2018, when more than $29,000 was raised for Center Grove and Johnson County nonprofit organizations. In total, the first three events have raised more than $75,000.

The running and walking routes include Morgantown, Smokey and Whiteland Roads and wind through several Center Grove area subdivisions south of the high school.
