Trafalgar man arrested after fleeing from police

<p>A Trafalgar man was arrested after police said he led multiple police agencies on a high speed chase, tried to flee on foot and hit a police dog that found him. </p><p>Joshua Cole Wilborn, 37, 6202 S. County Road 125W., was arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and driving while suspended.</p><p>An Edinburgh Police Department tried to stop a car, and the high speed chase began. Wilborn drive about 95 miles per hour on stretches of road where the speed limit is 50, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.</p><p>Wilborn’s vehicle crashed near the Mauxferry Road and Nineveh Road intersection south of Franklin and sheriff’s deputies were called to assist.</p><p>He left the vehicle and began running through woods. An officer deployed a K9 to help find him, according to the report.</p><p>The officer and the K9 walked through the woods, waist-high vegetation and ankle-high water to find him. The K9 unit found Wilborn hiding in tall weeds, the report said.</p><p>The K9 officer bit Wilborn in the buttocks and Wilborn began fighting the dog and the dog bit Wilborn on his left forearm. Wilborn then hit the dog again. The dog was taken off of Wilborn once he stopped resisting, the report said.</p><p>Medics treated Wilborn’s dog bites and he was arrested and taken to the Johnson County Jail, where he was released on $5,000 bond.</p>
