Musical teenage angst is coming to the Artcraft Theatre this weekend.

Set in the 1950s, this 1978 television musical explores the love lives and adventures of a group of teens at Rydell High. The film stars Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. Stockard Channing and Jeff Conaway also play teens in the show.

The musical features popular songs such as "Summer Nights," "Greased Lightnin," "Beauty School Drop-Out," and "You’re the One That I Want."

MEMORIAL DAY MILE, 9 to 10:30 a.m. May 27, registration on the courthouse square. $5 for a child; $12 for an adult.

Families who want to celebrate the remembrance holiday together can lace up their running shoes and participate in one of the biggest races in the country.

The Memorial Day Mile kicks off on the courthouse square Monday and the course will take participants through downton Franklin.

Organizers have timed the event so families who finish their exercise together can attend the annual Memorial Day service in Franklin, which starts at 11 a.m. on the courthouse lawn.
