Local powers play in State Preview
Center Grove and Franklin both competed in the State Preview on Saturday at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, with the Trojans and Grizzly Cubs finishing 10th and 11th, respectively, in a very deep 18-team field.
Meg Fosnot and Maddie Heineman each shot 87 for Center Grove, which finished with a team total of 368. Hope Davis added a round of 89. Franklin was one shot back at 369, led by Ellie Beavins (78), Ava Ray (81) and Liv Parramore (91).
Center Grove’s White team finished third out of 17 teams at the Whiteland Invitational with a score of 362 at The Legends. Natalie Wilson led the way with an 82.

Franklin swimmers wrap at nationals
On the final day of the Speedo Junior National Championships in Palo Alto, California, Franklin junior Cade Oliver finished 47th in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:08.52.
Former Grizzly Cub and Indiana University freshman Jacob Destrampe tied for 97th in the 200 IM at 2:11.28 and tied for 54th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24 seconds flat.
