Grizzly Cubs top Woodmen, Orioles

Ninth-ranked Franklin emerged victorious in a three-way match with Greenwood and Avon on Wednesday, posting a team score of 167 at Valle Vista to beat the runner-up Woodmen by 31. Ellie Beavins had a 37 for the Grizzly Cubs to secure medalist honors.

Ava Ray added a 39 for Franklin, followed by Alexa Wilkison (44) and Carly Woodward (47). Taylor Watson and Maura Guilfoy paced the Woodmen with rounds of 45 and 47, respectively.

Braves fall short

Indian Creek lost to Triton Central on Wednesday, 209-222. Hannah Emenhiser paced the Braves with a 52.

Girls soccer

Woodmen top Pioneers

Greenwood earned a 3-1 win over Mid-State Conference foe Mooresville on Wednesday. Tori Graber had a pair of goals for the Woodmen (5-2, 3-2). Alicia Ader added an insurance tally when she headed in a corner kick from Olivia Brawley, who had two assists. Kiley Hankenhoff made six saves in the victory. 

Cougars edge Trinity

Cameron Northern scored two goals and Adeline Jolley added the decisive score in the second half as Greenwood Christian edged Trinity Lutheran, 3-2, on Wednesday. Cassie Bigelow had two assists for GCA, while Ellie Bigelow made eight saves.

Boys tennis

Lancers fall to Jets

Edinburgh was defeated by Hauser, 4-1, on Wednesday. Max Blandford picked up the Lancers’ lone point with a 6-3, 6-2 win at second singles.

Rebels top Cardinals

Roncalli beat Southport on Wednesday, 4-1. Tyler Schofield and Ty Ransburg won for the Rebels at first and third singles, respectively. Sam Limcaco and Sammy Langston were victorious at first doubles, with Liam Moore and Josh Wormann winning in the second spot.

Trojans sweep North Central

Katie Egenolf put down 14 kills in Center Grove’s 25-13, 25-17, 25-10 win over North Central on Tuesday. Ashley Eck had 29 assists, while Rylie McMahen and Jada Beetz served up seven and four aces, respectively.
