Hospital Road closing for erosion repairs

A road on the southside of the county will be closed through the beginning of October.

Hospital Road from Stone Arch Road to South Tipton Trail, east of Nineveh, will be closed starting today for Camp Atterbury’s road crew to begin lane shift construction to address erosion caused from a nearby stream.

The road closure is expected through Oct. 2.

During the construction, Camp Atterbury’s perimeter fence will be located further south of the road, making room for an extended gravel shoulder to be constructed. The road has one lane open and is managed by a traffic light.

Motorists can take Nineveh Road to State Road 252 to Schoolhouse Road to bypass the construction.
