Fourth plane crash victim dies, investigation continues

A fourth victim of last week’s plane crash in Michigan has died.

Plainfield resident Zechariah Bennett died this weekend, and Aaron Blackford, of Frankton, was upgraded to critical but stable condition at a Lansing-area hospital, according to a Clinton County (Michigan) Sheriff’s Office news release.

Franklin resident and co-pilot Joel Beavins’s condition was unclear, the news release said.

Three Johnson County residents died Thursday when the plane from Greenwood crashed within yards of the Capital Region International Airport in Lansing: John Lowe, of Greenwood, who chartered the plane to take employees of The Engineering Collaborative and a contractor to a site visit in Michigan; Neil Sego, of Trafalgar, also an employee of the engineering firm; and Tim Clark, of Franklin, one of two pilots on board.

The National Transportation Safety Board is still investigating the cause of the crash, an agency spokesperson said.
