Greenwood man charged with 2 counts of child molesting

A Greenwood man was arrested and charged with child molesting after he allegedly touched two 10 year-old girls inappropriately on several occasions.

Robert Yance Pike, 49, faces two Level 4 felonies of child molesting, one charge for each victim in the case. If convicted, he faces up to 24 years in prison.

In April, a woman told police that Pike had touched a female relative and the relative’s friend inappropriately earlier that month, according to charging documents filed last week in Johnson County Circuit Court.

One of the victims told police Pike had touched her inappropriately on three separate occasions in April, according to court documents.

Each time, one of the victims was sitting on the couch when Pike would touch her. She told him to stop on at least one occasion, and Pike told her not to tell anyone, court documents said.

The second victim told police she was laying on a bed watching a show on a computer tablet when Pike touched her inappropriately, court documents said.

She also told police she tried to get up, but each time, Pike would try and push her back down. After Pike left the room, the victims told an adult, who called police, charging documents said.

In May, an attorney for Pike told police that he would not be making a statement on the allegations.

Pike, 6206 Bluff Acres Drive, was arrested this week and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was released on $13,200 bond.
