The Johnson County Public Library continues its author series with an appearance by Jewell, an internationally best-selling author of 18 novels. Her titles include “Then She Was Gone,” “I Found You,” “The Girls in the Garden” and “The House We Grew Up In.”

Admission to Jewell’s presentation and book signing is free, but people need to register for seats at pageafterpage.org/authors-at-jcpl. Copies of Jewell’s books will be available to purchase from Wild Geese Bookshop.

FALL ARTIST SHOWCASE, 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Alva Neal Community Building, 550 E. Jefferson St., Franklin.

Businesses throughout downtown Franklin will be rolling out special offers and incentives during the annual holiday open house on Saturday. At the same time, the Creative Council of Franklin has planned an afternoon full of artistry.

Come see work by 14 artists, shop for unique one-of-a-kind gifts, listen to music from three different performers and enjoy refreshments. Admission is free.
