STUDENT ART EXHIBIT, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Johnson Center for the Fine Arts, Franklin College, corner of Branigin Boulevard and Grizzly Drive.

See the best work done by Franklin College art students this semester during the annual fall art show. The work of students from all levels of studio art classes will be on display.

A reception Tuesday will kick off a weeklong exhibition of the artwork. People can view it from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through Dec. 9.

JAN BRETT, 5 p.m. Tuesday, the Historic Artcraft Theatre, 57 N. Main St., Franklin. Free.

Brett has traveled the world to discover different cultures, wildlife and landscapes. Seeing those aspects firsthand has allowed her to craft books and illustrations that are beloved by millions. The best-selling children’s author will be in Franklin to discuss her latest release, “The Tale of the Tiger Slippers.”

Doors will open at 4 p.m. for family activities, and copies of Brett’s books will be available to purchase from Kids Ink Children’s Bookstore. People will be able to meet the author and get your books signed. Admission is free, but people are asked to register at pageafterpage.org/authors-at-jcpl.
