Santa is rolling into Bargersville, Morgantown

Santa Claus is hopping on a train and rolling into two local communities to jumpstart the Christmas season.

Old St. Nick will ride the Indiana Rail Road to towns across southern Indiana and eastern Illinois this weekend in the annual Santa Train event.

On Dec. 6, he will be stopping in Bargersville from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the tracks near the town hall, and in Morgantown from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. behind the Morgantown Fire Department.

Access to the Santa Train is free. Youngsters will board the train to meet Santa, but the event does not feature a train ride.

Children can get in line to board the train to tell Santa want they want for Christmas.

Both communities will be hosting receptions centered around the event.

The fire station in Morgantown is offering refreshments. Bargersville is offering free hot cocoa and cookies for everyone who comes to the event.

Santa will stick around Bargersville until 7 p.m. Families can interact with live reindeer from Silly Safari, and Santa and his elves will be featured.
